Imagine being caught in an avalanche with only a shovel to free you from
hundreds of pounds of snow - the odds do not look very good. The North
Face hopes to change that through the integration of its new product,
called Avalanche Airbag Safety System (ABS). The ABS Patrol 24 Pack is
worn on your back and inflates to protect you if hit by a large amount
of snow, such as airbags in vehicles. The request for the development of
this product came from professional snowboarder and team member of The
North Face, Xavier Le Rue, who was trapped in an avalanche, four years
ago. After facing death, Le Rue demanded that the ABS system was built
