German camera maker Leica have presented the new Leica M-P ´Safari´ special edition. The exclusive set contains a Leica M-P digital rangefinder camera in olive green safari-look and a fast Leica 35 Summicron lens in silver chrome finish. The camera´s distinctive look is achieved by the extremely robust hard-wearing enamel finish in olive green, this protects the camera against finger marks, chemicals, UV light and scratches. Limited to 1500 sets, the kit also includes a beautiful premium leather strap, and a matching leather SD card holder.

Konost is a new startup composed of engineers and designers passionate about photography, their beautiful Konost FF is a digital rangefinder that could very well challenge Leica. They state "Konost FF is the world´s first true digital rangefinder”, instead of using the traditional mechanical rangefinder, it uses electronics overlayed on an optical viewfinder. Although not yet available (expected in early 2016), we leave you with some specs: it will feature a aluminum alloy body, 20MP resolution, frame rate of 30 fps, plus Raw and JPEG settings. No information on price has yet, but Konost aim to be competitive so that the camera will be accessible, meaning Leica could have a contender soon. watch the video

You can now pair your iPhone with your DSLR camera and remotely control it with the wireless Maxstone Camera Remote, even monitor its status, in fact your phone will warn you if you get more than 80 feet away from your camera. Via an included app, you can trigger its shutter, control time lapse or even the bulb settings and micro video. It pairs through infrared and Bluetooth technology, so you get a completely wireless system to control your reflex camera. Through the app you control the settings and you can shoot the photos using the small trigger. Pentax have announced the new Pentax K-S2, the new camera segment of K-50, which represents a leap forward in terms of technology and design. The Pentax K-S2 inherits some of the futuristic lines of the Pentax K-S1, but adds the much desired Wi-Fi connectivity, implemented for the first time on a Pentax camera. Despite the big leap, Pentax does not sacrifice the already expected protection from the elements which are a trademark of their products, producing a dust proof and slash proof piece of equipment, sealed off in all possible entry points, making it perfect for active, outdoor shooting. Specs include a 20 megapixel, AA Filter-less CMOS sensor, advanced HDR mode, and a vari-angle LCD. The K-S2 is available in a choice of several colors, included in a sports collection, and an outdoor collection.

Canon have recently introduced the new member of their G family, the G1X Mark II is the new Powershot, an updated version of its popular G1X camera. According to Canon, this new product offers the best performance ever offered in a Canon compact, and allows image quality to match that of a D-SLR. It now offers a 5x optical zoom, a huge, 1.5-inch 12.8 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor, a powerful DIGIC 6 Image Processor, 1080/30p video recording, and touch functionality has been added, as well. Finally, following the trends, the new G1 X Mark II also features connectivity Wi-Fi and NFC.

Leica have unveiled the beautiful Leica T 701, a minimalist masterpiece that combines the old photo virtues with modern technology. To celebrate its 100th birthday, Leica teamed up with Audi Design to develop a simple and brilliant camera part of Leica´s new T-system collection, a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera system with autofocus. The gorgeous camera body is carved from a single block of aluminum, and comes with a 16-megapixel APS-C sensor, 1080p video, integrated WiFi, an interchangeable lens mount and a 3.7 inch touchscreen on the back to browse shots and fine tune the settings. watch the video

After the earlier Lytro Camera, equipped with technology that revolutionized digital cameras, Lytro is now back with the Illum; an innovative camera, again based on the light-field camera technology. The Illum is aimed at professional photographers and has an 8x optical zoom, maximum aperture of F/2.0 and can capture up to 1/4000 of a second. The innovation lies, however, in the light sensors and tight DSLR-like body, and as the original Lytro, the Illum makes focusing an afterthought, allowing you to make unprecedented adjustments in postproduction, such as adjusting focus, tilt, perspective, and depth of field at any time after the shots have been taken (you can check out an example here). watch the video

The Coolpix AW120 is the latest though camera by Nikon. The rugged and waterproof digital camera is built to withstand harsh environments and risky outdoor photography. It can dive up to 18 meters(59 feet), fall from 2 meters(6.6 feet) high, and withstand cold to minus 10 degrees Celsius(14F). Just like its predecessor, the AW120 is also equipped with a 16Mpx CMOS sensor, but features some upgrades, it now packs an ultra-wide 24mm f/2.8 lens with 5x optical zoom, improving underwater snapping qualities. It is also capable of shooting 1080p/60i video in slow or fast motion from 15 through to 240fps, and includes a built-in GPS, integrated WiFi and compass. Available in several colors including the always cool camouflage.
