stuff we drool about

Volkswagen Electric Dune Buggy

VW have introduced the very cool I.D. Buggy, an all-electric dune buggy with some 1960s California subculture flair. The all-electric dune buggy crams futuristic tech into a retro package, it features a single 201-horsepower, 228 lb-ft (309 Nm) electric motor in the rear, fed by a 62-kWh battery pack in the floor, giving a WLTP range of 155 miles (250 km). It is capable of 0-60mph in 7.2 seconds, and a top speed of 99mph. Other details include 18-inch wheels wrapped in chunky BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, a water-resistant Nappa leather interior, a strap-down tray for surfboards, rounded LED head and taillights, and a fully detachable bodywork, meaning third-party builders could make all sorts of body shapes for it. We have our fingers crossed hoping this goes into production.
