stuff we drool about

La Roja House

We have featured several retreat cabins over the years, but none as lively as this vibrant impression on the Chilean landscape. La Roja house by Felipe Assadi Arquitectos is located in a low-density, mountain area in San Jose de Maipo, Chile. The cube-like home has a vivid scarlet exterior that contrasts with its lush, green surroundings, and unlike the exterior, the interior features bright, airy interior spaces, and carries a more muted palette with walls lined in blonde plywood and neutral floor tiles. The remote dwelling encompasses 87 square metres, distributed across two levels that are separated by a very cool floating staircase.
