DeckShiv Neo Utility Knife
The DeckShiv Neo turns a compact utility knife into something you may keep reaching for even when there is nothing to cut. Its defining feature is a magnetic slider mechanism designed around a controlled push, rising resistance, and a crisp return, giving the tool the satisfying feel of a fidget slider without compromising its usefulness as an everyday cutter.
Inside, four N52 magnets work with a CNC-machined brass rail to guide the slider smoothly and pull it back into place. A pin-and-stop system gives the mechanism a firm end point, while a fine bidirectional texture improves thumb grip for both left and right-handed use. Compared with the original DeckShiv, the Neo adds 0.26 inches of travel and is around 20% thinner.
For cutting, the Neo uses standard SK5 utility blades rather than a proprietary refill. Its 15-degree asymmetric opening exposes around 0.95 inches of edge, giving a clearer view of the cutting line, while two additional N52 magnets and a mechanical stop help hold the blade securely in place. A removable deep-carry clip and integrated lanyard point give you a couple of ways to carry it.
