Rictor CY-X4 Flight Pod
The Rictor CY X4 Flight Pod signals a major shift in personal aviation, making electric flight far more accessible than ever before. Unveiled at CES 2026, the X4 is billed as the world’s first hop on and take off ultralight eVTOL, designed to lower the barriers that have kept personal aircraft out of reach for most people.
Power comes from a semi solid state dual battery system with built in redundancy, allowing the X4 to land safely even if one module fails. An emergency parachute adds another layer of protection. Rictor’s Dynamic Balance Algorithm actively manages all eight motors in real time, maintaining stability even in strong side winds while keeping noise levels below 65 decibels.

Priced at $39,900, the X4 complies with FAA Part 103 regulations, meaning it can be legally operated in the United States without a pilot license or airworthiness certification. That alone places it in a category of its own. Built around a four axis, eight propeller layout, the aircraft uses large carbon fiber folding propellers and carries a maximum payload of 100 kg, including the pilot.

The X4 reaches speeds of up to 80 km per hour with a flight time of around 20 minutes. It folds down to a compact size that fits in the bed of a pickup truck and can even be charged while on the move. First deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2026, positioning the X4 as one of the most ambitious steps yet toward everyday personal flight.
