Park Street House

The Park Street House reimagines a post-war brick home in Brunswick West, embracing a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Designed by Michael Ong Design Office, the renovation prioritizes openness, light, and connection to nature, reflecting the owners's desire to live outside as much as possible.

A central courtyard replaces the former living room, improving natural light, ventilation, and spatial flow. Timber sliding doors disappear into concealed pockets, allowing the garden to take center stage. The result is a home where nature is not just seen but experienced.

Warm, natural materials enhance the home's timeless appeal, while thoughtful apertures frame changing light throughout the day. Inspired by camping and cabin life, Park Street House is designed to age gracefully, blending into its surroundings rather than dominating them. It is a home that fosters connection, minimalism, and a deep relationship with the outdoors, an architectural retreat built for living, not just sheltering.
