Clifftop Swedish Retreat

Perched atop a cliff, this spectacular Swedish retreat is up for grabs. Located just about an hour south of Stockholm, the cantilevered house seems to float, offering gorgeous views of the island-dotted ocean stretching out before it. The gravity-defying house was designed by Trigueiros Architects, it sits on stilts treading as lightly as possible on the natural stony terrain. Clad in Siberian larch, the minimalist house is adorned with a sprawling wraparound balcony, and is composed of expansive walls of glass for stunning views all around. It also has direct access to the beach, as well as its very own pier and private sauna.

House on the Lake by Obranegra Arquitectos

Built on a small peninsula within the La Fe reservoir, 30 kilometers east of Medellin, this house by Obranegra Arquitectos sits in a landscape where fog, intense sunlight, heavy rain, and cold nights can all happen in the same day. The architecture doesn't fight that variability. It was designed around it.   The approach sets the tone before you reach the front door. A winding path descends through dense vegetation of rosemary, lavender, penn...

Casa Mavra

Casa Mavra is less about decoration and more about presence. The use of raw materials and controlled geometry puts it closer to projects like the Shoreline House, where architecture works with the landscape rather than trying to dominate it. The sequence into the home is what stands out. That long approach, defined by a rising wall and water running alongside the stairs, creates a sense of transition that feels deliberate and slow. It is a similar kin...
