Floyd Compact Gives Short-Trip Luggage a Colorful Spin
The Floyd Compact Suitcase carries the distinctive look of the Floyd Cabin Suitcase into a model intended for one or two nights away. Its colorful shell and contrasting wheels give short-trip luggage a welcome dose of personality.
The construction combines a Makrolon polycarbonate shell with an aluminum frame, sliding latches, and an integrated TSA combination lock. That distinction matters: this is a polycarbonate case with metal framing, rather than an all-aluminum suitcase. A telescopic handle handles the airport-to-hotel routine.
Underneath, eight polyurethane skateboard wheels form a 360-degree spinner system. They are replaceable and available in different colors, giving owners a way to refresh the appearance or replace worn wheels. It’s a functional detail that also supplies much of Floyd’s visual identity.
Inside, orange recycled poly-satin lining surrounds two compartments secured with YKK zippers, plus mesh and laptop storage. A shoe bag helps separate footwear from clothes. The arrangement makes sense for short stays, although the listed 9.7lb empty weight deserves attention when packing against an airline’s weight allowance.
