TJB Kent Bolt-Action Titanium Pen

The TJB Kent Bolt-Action Titanium Pen brings a new material to The James Brand’s first bolt-action writing tool. Originally introduced with a stainless-steel barrel, the Kent now comes in titanium, retaining the restrained shape and side-mounted mechanism that define its design.

The bolt extends and retracts the tip with one hand, keeping the top free of a protruding clicker. Its locking action also helps prevent accidental deployment in a pocket. It is a small mechanical detail with a useful purpose, as well as something to occupy your thumb between notes.

Measuring 13.5cm long and 8.8mm in diameter, the Kent keeps its proportions slim enough for daily carry. A metal-injection-molded stainless-steel clip secures it to a pocket or notebook, while a replaceable black Parker-style G2 cartridge handles the writing. That widely available refill format gives owners options when the original runs dry.

At $179, the titanium version commands a substantial premium over the $79 steel model. The extra buys a different barrel material and finish while preserving the same basic functionality. Its appeal is strongest for those who enjoy the construction and feel of a writing tool they plan to keep.
