EDC August: 4 Everyday Carry Essentials

August’s EDC selection brings together a lightweight titanium dive watch, technical performance sunglasses, a tiny dedicated music player, and a pair of open-back wired earphones. Four compact essentials, each with a clear purpose and enough character to stand out from the usual everyday carry.

Timex Deepwater Reef 200 Titanium Automatic

Timex dive watch
The Timex Deepwater Reef 200 pairs a lightweight 41mm Grade 2 titanium case with serious dive-watch credentials. It offers 200 metres of water resistance, a screw-down crown, sapphire crystal, unidirectional bezel, Super-LumiNova markings, and a Miyota 8215 automatic movement with around 40 hours of power reserve. A black HNBR synthetic rubber strap keeps the package comfortable on and off the water.

District Vision Man Takeyoshi Altitude Master

District Vision sunglasses
Designed for demanding outdoor use, District Vision’s Takeyoshi Altitude Master combines an 8-base wraparound frame with adjustable nose pads, helmet-friendly temples, and a Grade 2 titanium core. The polarized D+ Water Gray lenses block 100% of UVA and UVB rays, while anti-reflective and oleophobic coatings help manage glare, water, and oil. The Japanese-made frame weighs just 24 grams.

FiiO Snowsky Echo Nano Music Player

Fiio mp3 music player
The Snowsky Echo Nano brings back the simplicity of a dedicated pocket music player with a more audiophile-minded specification. Its CNC-machined aluminum-magnesium body houses a CS43131 DAC with DSD256 decoding, while the physical control wheel keeps operation deliberately tactile. It supports lossless formats including FLAC, WAV, APE, and DSD, accepts microSD storage, and can also work as a USB DAC for a phone or computer.

Fosi Audio IM4 Earphones

Fosi gaming earphones
Fosi Audio’s IM4 uses an open-back in-ear design to create a wider, less enclosed listening experience. Each CNC-machined aluminum earpiece weighs 7 grams and houses a 10mm dual-magnet dynamic driver with a beryllium-coated diaphragm. Interchangeable brass and aluminum nozzles, three styles of ear tips, and a detachable 0.78mm two-pin cable allow the fit and sound to be adjusted to preference.
