MAT Stratos Coupe

Introduced back in 1973, the Lancia Stratos was one of the most successful World Rally Championship cars of all time. Now, after more than 40 years of being out of the spotlight, the iconic Stratos has returned! Based on the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, the New Stratos is built by Manufattura Automobili Torino (MAT), and takes the Scuderia´s V8 to boost the output to 540 hp. Part of a limited production run of 25, the New Stratos featured here is the first example offered at auction, and, as you can imagine, this particular Stratos Coupe is going to fetch a steep price (Bonhams estimates that the first-production Stratos Coupe will fetch somewhere in the vicinity of $1 million). The updated beauty also features an updated exhaust, a revised engine management system, a 7.8-inch shorter wheelbase, and an overall weight that comes in 110 lbs lighter than the original car. The modern, production-ready version of the legendary race car also features a white exterior with removable Alitalia livery.
