Ineos Grenadier SUV
The spirit of Defender has reborn in the newly revealed Ineos Grenadier, a big and boxy, British-built all-terrain SUV. The Ineos Grenadier is less a shameless Defender copycat and more a living homage. Ineos founder Jim Ratcliffe, a self-described adventurer and Land Rover fan, tried to buy Defender back in 2016 when Land Rover retired the original Defender. After failing to secure the tooling to keep the Defender tradition alive, he set off on a mission to build the utilitarian 4x4 of his dreams. Built to handle the world´s harshest environments, the Grenadier is a slavishly devoted homage to the original Defender, from grille to rear doors, and from clerestory windows to knobby tires. The all-terrain SUV has permanent all-wheel-drive, a ladder chassis, lockable differentials, a washable interior, 7000+ lb towing capacity, spacious cargo room, and a BMW engine, resulting in a utilitarian vehicle that will stand the test of time, and a capable, durable and reliable 4x4 built to handle the world’s harshest environments. We are sorry Land Rover, this is what the new Defender should have been. Production will start in late 2021, and yes, the company plans to sell the car in the USA! watch the video below
