1980 Porsche 911 Safari

This awesome 1980 Porsche 911 Safari is proof that some of the best builds are born from rough beginnings. Originally from Hawaii, later restored in Scandinavia, this tired 911 became the perfect foundation for a proper rally inspired transformation. Rather than chasing perfection, the goal was character, durability, and period correct attitude.

The entire build was handled using traditional metalwork, avoiding fiberglass in favor of shaped sheet metal. Every worn component was replaced, turning the car into a true Safari style machine that feels authentic to the era. A custom roll bar and exterior protection bars add purpose, while Recaro bucket seats with four point TRS harnesses bring serious driver focus inside a fully reupholstered cabin.

Suspension duties are handled by a Bilstein rally setup, giving the car real off road capability without losing the classic 911 driving feel. Power comes from a 3.0 liter flat six producing 201 horsepower, paired with a manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. Fuchs wheels wrapped in Nokian Rockproof tires complete the stance, with a full size spare mounted on the roof alongside three LED driving lamps.

Finished in metallic Geminigrau, the look is rugged but refined. Built by Carace in Finland with engine and transmission work by Kiverio Customs, this Safari 911 earned Best of Show and Peoples Choice at Porsche Festival Finland 2022. A timeless build arriving right on cue as Porsche revives the Safari spirit once again.
