1966 Jaguar XJ13 Recreation

The 1966 Jaguar XJ13 was designed to compete in the renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance event, but the project stalled and only one prototype was made. As such, it is impossible to come across a genuine example available for purchase, which means if you want one, you are going to have to get a replica. That is where New Zealand’s Rod Tempero comes into play. This XJ13 is an identical copy of the original down to the last nut and rivet, an exquisitely-made replica that even boasts a recreation of the original 5.0-liter V12 that produces a whopping 500 horsepower. Tempero even added a see-through engine cover, allowing onlookers to view each cylinder and a single-tube roll bar. The beauty is going to be sold to a very lucky bidder in August via RM Sotheby’s.
