Figure 02 Humanoid Robot

Figure 02 Humanoid Robot is the world's first commercially-viable autonomous humanoid robot.
Figure, the OpenAI-backed robotics startup, has unveiled its second-generation bipedal humanoid robot, the Figure 02 (F.02). Built from the ground up, the F.02 is designed for tasks on factory floors, but it also hints at future home applications, like robo-butlers.

The F.02 features significant upgrades, including an exoskeleton architecture with integrated wiring, 50 Nm of torque at the shoulders, and 150 Nm at the hips and knees. Its advanced vision system uses six RGB cameras for a 360-degree view, complemented by a vision language model that helps it understand and react to its environment autonomously. The robot is equipped with a 2.25 kWh battery, offering 50% longer runtime, and fourth-generation hands with 16 degrees of freedom, delivering human-equivalent strength.

Communication is enhanced with onboard microphones and speakers, enabling direct conversations powered by custom AI models developed with OpenAI. The F.02 boasts three times the processing power of its predecessor, allowing it to perform complex AI tasks without external support.

Recently tested at BMW's Spartanburg facility, the F.02 successfully handled tasks like fitting sheet metal parts and conducting AI data collection. With its sleek design, increased autonomy, and advanced capabilities, the Figure 02 marks a significant step toward Figure's goal of creating commercially viable humanoid robots for both industrial and domestic use. Watch the video below
