Fi Ultra Satellite Dog Tracker

Most dog trackers work well around home. The problem begins when the trail leaves mobile coverage behind. Fi Ultra is designed for those situations, adding T-Satellite with Starlink to a rugged wearable built for dogs that spend time far beyond neighbourhood streets and fenced parks.

The tracker combines satellite connectivity with the location monitoring expected from a modern Fi device. In remote and rural areas, it can use Starlink’s low-Earth-orbit network to keep reporting a dog’s position when conventional cellular coverage is unavailable. Fi describes the system as real-time remote tracking, while current satellite support is limited to the United States, excluding Alaska.

Fi Ultra also introduces CallBack, an in-app feature that triggers sound and vibration from the tracker. There are no static corrections. Instead, the cues are intended to give owners another way to attract a trained dog’s attention from a distance. Escape alerts and virtual boundaries add a second layer of protection by notifying the owner when the dog moves outside a designated safe area.

The low-profile unit attaches to compatible collars, harnesses, and working vests rather than requiring a complete proprietary collar. Its sealed housing is designed to withstand water, mud, and rough outdoor use, with New Atlas reporting IP68 and IP66K protection and compatibility with straps up to 5.5mm thick.

Battery life is rated at up to five days from a USB-C charge. That is considerably shorter than Fi’s everyday trackers, but the Ultra is aimed at a different job: maintaining a connection during hikes, camping trips, working-dog outings, and other situations where satellite access matters more than months between charges. It can be used independently or alongside select Fi trackers that handle broader activity and behaviour monitoring.

The Fi Ultra does not replace good recall training or sensible precautions. What it offers is a stronger safety net for owners who regularly take their dogs beyond reliable cell service, combining off-grid tracking, remote cues, and a genuinely adventure-ready build in one compact device.
