Sonos Ace Ultra Headphones

Sonos has followed its first headphones with the Sonos Ace Ultra, a more capable version that pushes harder on both noise cancellation and integration with the wider Sonos ecosystem. The new model keeps the familiar over-ear format but introduces a redesigned 40mm driver, adaptive EQ, and a ten-microphone array that powers stronger active noise cancellation, calls, Aware mode, and TrueCinema. Sonos says ANC performance is up to twice as effective as the original Ace at frequencies up to 65Hz.

The biggest change is how closely the headphones now connect with other Sonos products. An Early Access Headphone Linking feature lets you push or pull music between compatible Sonos speakers and the Ace Ultra using the Content Key, while WiFi support allows control through the Sonos app at home. TV Audio Swap remains part of the package, letting you move Dolby Atmos sound from a compatible Sonos soundbar directly to the headphones. TrueCinema then adapts that private theater experience to the acoustics of the room.

Sonos has also added Adaptive EQ, which compensates for changes caused by fit, glasses, hair, and other acoustic leaks. Lossless playback is supported over Bluetooth with Qualcomm aptX on compatible devices or through USB-C, while dynamic head tracking keeps spatial audio positioned naturally as you move. Aware mode now includes Voice Boost, and Sidetone lets you hear your own voice more naturally during calls with ANC enabled.

Battery life rises to up to 35 hours with ANC or Aware mode active, with a three-minute rapid charge providing up to three hours of playback. The ear cushions and battery are also designed to be replaceable, extending the potential lifespan of the headphones. Sonos Ace Ultra is priced at $449 and is available to preorder, with shipping expected to begin September 29, 2026.
