Most camping chairs are designed to disappear into the garage between trips. Snow Peak’s Low Beach Chair takes a different approach, combining the portability of outdoor furniture with the kind of materials and proportions that feel equally at home on a patio, balcony, or living-room floor.
Designed in Japan, the chair pairs a lightweight aluminium-alloy frame with laminated bamboo armrests, stainless-steel fittings, and a durable polyester seat. Its low 12-inch sitting height creates a relaxed position close to the ground, while the tall back provides considerably more support than the compact silhouette might suggest.
The frame opens with minimal setup and folds into a narrow shape for transport or storage. At eight pounds, it is light enough to carry to the beach, campsite, park, or an outdoor concert, and Snow Peak includes a dedicated carrying case to make the journey easier.
Once open, it measures 23 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 39 inches tall. Folded away, the profile shrinks to just 6.3 by 7 inches while retaining its full 40-inch length. That makes it particularly useful when space is limited, whether packed into a vehicle or stored in a small apartment.
What sets the Low Beach Chair apart is that it never looks temporary. The natural bamboo armrests soften the technical frame, while the simple canvas-style seat keeps the design understated. It is still rugged enough for regular use outdoors, but refined enough that bringing it inside never feels like a compromise.
