Timex Deepwater Meridian 300 Titanium HEV Automatic

Timex is pushing further into serious dive watch territory with the Deepwater Meridian 300 Titanium HEV Automatic, a rugged mechanical timepiece built around a lightweight grade 5 titanium case and professional diving features. Combining substantial technical specifications with a striking luminous dial, this latest addition to the Deepwater collection represents a more ambitious side of Timex, with a design intended to perform well beyond everyday wear.

The 44mm case is crafted from beadblasted grade 5 titanium, offering excellent strength and corrosion resistance without the weight of traditional stainless steel. Measuring 15mm thick with a 51mm lug-to-lug distance, it has a substantial presence on the wrist. A screw-down crown, reinforced crown guards, and screw-on caseback help provide 300 meters of water resistance, while a helium escape valve allows trapped gases to escape during decompression, a feature associated with saturation diving.

One of the most distinctive elements is the fully luminous dial, which uses Nemoto LumiNova SG2200 for exceptional readability in low-light conditions. The luminous treatment extends to the hands, hour markers, and rotating bezel, creating a particularly striking appearance after dark. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the unidirectional bezel allows elapsed time to be tracked during diving or other activities.

Power comes from a Miyota 8215 automatic movement with 21 jewels and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The watch is fitted with a black HNBR synthetic rubber strap, selected for its resistance to water, heat, UV exposure, and wear. Perforations improve breathability, while quick-release spring bars make it easy to change straps without tools.

Priced at $999, the Timex Deepwater Meridian 300 Titanium HEV Automatic is a significant step up from the brand's more affordable offerings. With its titanium construction, distinctive luminous dial, and serious dive watch specifications, it delivers a compelling combination of technical functionality and bold design.
