Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Power Reserve

Hamilton has just given its iconic field watch a subtle yet game-changing upgrade. The new Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Power Reserve brings a practical complication to the rugged classic: a power reserve indicator.

For the first time, the hand-wound Khaki Field shows how much energy is left in its movement, displayed at nine o’clock in a design that feels like a vintage fuel gauge. Marked with F (full), E (empty), and a halfway marker, the indicator blends seamlessly into the dial, maintaining the watch’s timeless military aesthetic while adding a dose of functionality.

The 40mm bead-blasted stainless steel case comes with either a black or white dial, paired with Old Radium Super-LumiNova hands and markers for reliable low-light legibility. Strap options include a rugged green NATO strap with leather keepers or a sturdy steel bracelet. With 100m water resistance, it’s built to handle outdoor use just as much as everyday wear.

Inside beats the new H-23 caliber, a hand-wound ETA movement delivering a robust 80-hour power reserve. The slipping clutch design prevents overwinding and helps the indicator resync automatically, ensuring reliability without fuss.

Hamilton has managed to enhance its most beloved tool watch without disrupting what makes it special: simplicity, durability, and legibility. The Khaki Field Mechanical Power Reserve feels both fresh and familiar, a true evolution of a classic that’s been rooted in military watchmaking for over a century.
