Florijn Watch
FLORIJN is a new Dutch watch brand. The FLORIJN dive watch, from case to dial, is of typical Dutch Design, with clear lines, and is both simple and powerful. The end result is a no-frills timepiece, with clean lines and excellent functionality, a comfortable, affordable and reliable dive watch. The FLORIJN brand was started by passionate watch lover Hans Heuvelman, who finally took the bold step of producing his own watches. Inspired by Dutch Design, described as ‘simple and powerful’, without being simplistic, his main objective was to offer a pleasant, comfortable, affordable and reliable watch; clearly indicating the time and date and suitable to wear in any circumstance.
High quality materials such as 316L Stainless steel and scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal were chosen along with a reliable and durable automatic mechanical Seiko movement (NH35), so no batteries are needed. The watch´s 45mm case is fitted with a specially engraved solid steel rotating divers 120-click bezel, with both dive-time scale and dual-time zone markers. The Florijn watch can be used for deep water diving thanks to its waterproof capability of 300 meters (30 ATM).
The watch is also suitable for frequent travelers, the dual time/hours bezel lets the user easily read the time in different time zones. The minutes are indicated on the bezel for your convenience.
Three different models are available (FLORIJN 1, 2 and 3), with only a limited series of 100 pieces being produced of each model, you can choose from a a black (DLC Coating) or steel case; and a black or steel rotating bezel. You can also opt if you want a date loupe or not. Every watch goes through a quality assurance process before it is sent to you, and comes in a luxury box, with a 2 year warranty, 3 straps (rubber/leather/nato) and a strap tool.
We spent some time with the Florijn Dive Watch, overall, the watch is unpretentious, works beautifully as a casual timepiece and is versatile enough to dress up as well. It is very well built, with a cool bulky case, bold bezels, aggressive dials, features an always reliable Seiko NH35A movement, a very resistant sapphire crystal, and an impressive 300M water resistance. And for under $400, this is genuinely a great deal.
