Fears Brunswick Jump Hour Ultimus
Fears is closing the chapter on its Brunswick Jump Hour with the Ultimus, the final version of the complication and the most technically ambitious dial the British brand has produced to date. Created in collaboration with Andrew Morgan, it takes inspiration from the Art Deco period while exposing far more of the mechanism than earlier models.
Instead of a conventional hour aperture at 12 o’clock, the Ultimus uses a three-part sapphire dial construction that leaves the rotating hour disc largely visible. A frosted semi-transparent minute track sits above a luminous ceramic centre, while an integrated magnifying window enlarges the current hour. The result gives the jump-hour display much more visual presence without losing the clean Brunswick character.
The 40.5mm cushion-shaped case is made from 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed finishing, paired with a domed sapphire crystal and 100 metres of water resistance. Inside is the automatic JJ01 jump-hour module developed by Christopher Ward over a Sellita SW200 base, with a 38-hour power reserve.
The Ultimus is not limited by production number, but it is available only during a one-week ordering window from August 10 to August 17, with deliveries beginning in November.
