Aquastar Benthos 500 Dive Watch
Since 1962, Aquastar has been a pioneer in the dive watch industry, influencing generations of mechanical dive watches. The newly announced 2024 Aquastar Benthos 500, a limited edition of 300 pieces, is a mechanically faithful recreation of the original 1970s model, featuring the new central minutes monopusher chronograph movement from La Joux-Perret.
This limited-edition watch maintains the iconic look and functionality of the original Benthos 500. Crafted from durable 316L stainless steel, the 42mm case has been subtly reshaped for improved wearability. It features a flat sapphire crystal for clarity and durability, and a black ceramic unidirectional dive bezel with luminous markings for precise timing.
The semi-glossy black dial, with ecru Super-LumiNova-coated indices and oversized hands, ensures easy readability. The chronograph pusher, now at 2 o'clock, allows for precise timing even underwater. The bespoke caliber 1MPS movement offers a 60-hour power reserve, manual winding, and a screw-down crown at 4 o'clock.
