Flint and Tinder Japanese Stretch Selvedge Denim
The Flint and Tinder Japanese Stretch Selvedge Denim combines traditional shuttle-loom construction with just enough stretch to make premium denim easier to wear every day. The 12.5-ounce fabric comes from Japan’s Kaihara Mills, giving the jeans the texture, structure, and fading potential associated with classic selvedge without the stiffness of a fully rigid pair.
The denim is made from 98% cotton with 2% stretch and woven on antique shuttle looms. From there, the jeans are cut and sewn in the USA, pairing Japanese fabric production with American construction and finishing.
The collection is offered in three fits. HB Straight keeps the silhouette classic and balanced, HB Athletic Straight adds more room through the seat and thigh while maintaining a straight leg, and HB Athletic Tapered offers the same extra room up top with a narrower finish below the knee. That range makes it easier to choose the shape that works best without changing the underlying fabric or construction.
Traditional details include selvedge ID, branded hardware, a YKK zipper fly, and a suede back patch. The result is denim that keeps the character of Japanese selvedge while adding enough comfort and fit options to make it a more practical daily choice.
