Salomon Ultra Glide 4 Trail Running Shoes

The Salomon Ultra Glide 4 is built for long days on mixed terrain, with a softer, lighter setup aimed at making high-mileage trail runs more comfortable. Salomon describes it as its most comfortable trail shoe yet, with improved breathability and durability over the previous version.

The midsole uses Salomon’s lightweight optiFOAM cushioning, with a 41mm heel stack, 35mm forefoot stack, and 6mm drop. Underfoot, the All-Terrain Contagrip outsole uses 4mm lugs for grip across wet, dry, hard, and loose surfaces, while the wavy relieveSPHERE geometry is designed to help disperse repeated impact.

Up top, engineered mesh balances support with ventilation, while an internal EndoFit sleeve helps lock the foot in place. Salomon’s QuickLace system keeps adjustments fast and simple, particularly useful when stopping mid-run to fine-tune the fit.

At 10 ounces per shoe, the Ultra Glide 4 is designed for cushioned ultra-trail running rather than maximum speed. It is priced at $160 in the United States and comes in several colorways, including Urban Chic/Black/Lime Cream and Fiery Red/Vanilla Ice/Black.
