The RAD UFO Running Shoes combine substantial cushioning with a design that skips the carbon plate. This road-focused super trainer uses layered foam and a curved sole to support everyday mileage, longer runs, and changes of pace. RAD’s SUPEFOAM midsole pairs two PEBA-blend layers with different firmness levels. One supplies softer cushioning, while the other is designed to contribute rebound. A 42mm heel stack and 8mm drop put plenty of material underfoot, with a listed weight of 249 grams in a men’s US size 9.

 

The sculpted heel and forefoot rocker are designed to help the foot roll through each stride. Independent testing suggests the UFO is particularly comfortable over longer efforts, although its broad sole can feel less nimble during fast intervals. Its appeal lies in covering a useful range of training paces rather than specializing in outright speed.

 

A flexible upper completes the package, with reviewers generally reporting true-to-size fit but differing experiences of how securely it holds the foot. For runners drawn to generous cushioning and a distinctive silhouette, the UFO offers an interesting take on the everyday road trainer.
