Norda 001A Trail Sneaker
The Norda 001A is the latest evolution of the Canadian brand’s ultra-distance trail shoe, keeping the rugged Dyneema construction of the original while upgrading the ride underneath. A seamless bio-circular Dyneema upper keeps weight down while resisting abrasion, making the shoe especially well suited to long days on technical terrain.
The biggest change is the new proprietary Norda x Arnitel TPEE midsole, engineered for better energy return, resilience, and durability than the foam used in the original 001. A custom eTPU insole adds another layer of cushioning, while the shoe maintains a relatively low 26mm heel and 21mm forefoot stack with a 5mm drop.
Underfoot, an exclusive Norda x Vibram sole combines Litebase construction with Megagrip rubber and 5mm lugs for traction across wet rock, loose dirt, and technical trail. Dyneema-reinforced laces, a gusseted sock construction, and 360-degree reflective detailing round out a design aimed at both durability and secure fit.
At 268g for a men’s US 8.5, the 001A manages to stay relatively light considering the materials and protection involved. Norda positions it as a workhorse for ultra distances, daily training, and racing, and recommends sizing up half a size for the best fit. The 001A is currently listed at $295 through Huckberry.
