Snap SPECS AR Smart Glasses
Snap’s SPECS are built around a different idea of augmented reality: keep the real world visible and layer digital information on top of it. The lightweight glasses use transparent waveguide displays with 16 million colors and a 51-degree field of view, creating the equivalent of a 115-inch screen viewed from about ten feet away.
Rather than relying on controllers, SPECS respond to hand gestures and voice commands. Dual Snapdragon processors handle rendering, AI, and spatial understanding, while onboard sensors allow digital content to stay anchored within the room. The glasses can display directions, translations, notifications, timers, and virtual workspaces without requiring the wearer to constantly reach for a phone.
Electrochromic lenses can shift from clear to tinted in around 10 seconds, and built-in stereo speakers provide open-ear audio while keeping the surroundings audible. SPECS also support wired screen casting from a phone, computer, or gaming device, effectively turning them into a private portable display.
Battery life is rated at up to four hours of mixed use, with the charging case providing four additional charges for up to 20 hours in total. The frames come in 47mm Narrow and 52mm Wide fits, weigh 132g and 136g respectively, and can be fitted with single-vision prescription lenses from -8 to +2 diopters.
