Buck Mason Vintage-Inspired Eyewear

Buck Mason has spent years refining a specific version of American menswear, the kind that references midcentury style without cosplaying it. Their first eyewear collection follows the same approach. Three silhouettes drawn from the 1950s and 1960s, each rooted in a specific cultural reference point, built from materials that justify keeping them for years.

The Monk channels the eyewear favored by bebop and jazz musicians. The shape is understated and intellectual, the kind of frame that looks natural in a dim club or on a city sidewalk. The Speedster pulls from the rugged, functional styles worn by racing drivers of the era, when sunglasses served a genuine protective purpose before they became a fashion accessory. The Caddy pays tribute to midcentury Cadillacs with a browline silhouette inspired by the unmistakable tailfins that defined American automotive design in the late 1950s. Three distinct moods from the same decade, each one specific enough to carry real character.

All three styles share the same construction. Lightweight Italian acetate frames, handcrafted rather than injection molded, with anti-reflective CR39 lenses providing full UV400 protection. CR39 is the optical standard for clarity and scratch resistance in premium eyewear, and the anti-reflective coating reduces glare and eye strain in bright conditions. The material quality is consistent with what you find from dedicated eyewear brands at higher price points.

$248 across all three styles. Available now at buckmason.com. Buck Mason entering eyewear makes sense for a brand that has always treated American style as something worth building carefully rather than mass producing. The references are specific, the construction is genuine, and the price sits in the range where you expect quality without paying for a logo.
