Triple Aught Design Selous Safari Jacket
The Triple Aught Design Selous Safari Jacket takes the utility of classic expedition clothing and rebuilds it as a rugged overshirt for everyday wear. Named after explorer and naturalist Frederick Courteney Selous, it uses a relaxed fit that works equally well as a substantial shirt or as a light outer layer over tees, polos, and merino.
The standout material is Halley Stevensons CF220 Cellardyke, a 9-ounce blend of 80% cotton and 20% linen woven in Scotland. The waxed finish helps resist light precipitation and dirt, while the fabric gradually softens, creases, and develops more character with use. It can also be reproofed when needed to restore some of that protection.
An action-back construction adds extra room through the shoulders without relying on stretch fabric. Storage is equally practical, with two oversized flap chest pockets and a pair of lower hand pockets with internal dividers. TAD’s slotted buttons are attached using tubular flat lace, making them easier to repair in the field, and the jacket comes with spare components.
