This New Zealand Brand Is Building Serious Gear for Extreme Mountains

Inselberg is a new New Zealand brand focused on one thing only, building serious technical gear for demanding mountain environments. Developed in the Southern Alps alongside Search and Rescue teams, the brand is rooted in real world use rather than trends.

Founded by climber Jarlath Anderson, Inselberg was created with a clear direction. Performance comes first. Every piece is designed for reliability in harsh conditions, with a focus on durability, repairability, and long term use.

- If you are into serious expedition outerwear, the Arksen Asgard Down Parka is worth a look.

The development process is as rigorous as you would expect. Products are built, tested, taken apart, and rebuilt until they meet the demands of professional climbers and guides. Materials are sourced from specialist mills in Japan, Taiwan, and France, the same suppliers trusted by some of the most respected names in the space.

Field testing has been just as serious. Gear has already been used on Everest by the Climbing the Seven Summits team, who now partner with the brand for future expeditions. Back home, Inselberg also works closely with the Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Rescue Team.

- For a more technical insulated layer, the Vollebak Deep Sea Diver Hoodie is a strong alternative.

In a category where many brands lean into style, Inselberg stays focused on function. This is gear designed to perform when conditions turn, and when failure is not an option.
