Arcteryx Sperro SV Jacket
The Arc’teryx Sperro SV is the first product developed under the brand’s new System 0 circular-design framework, created to rethink how technical gear is built, repaired, and eventually recycled. It is a serious mountain hardshell made with GORE-TEX Pro ePE and recycled ECONYL nylon, proving that a more circular approach does not have to come at the expense of weather protection or durability.
The 70D three-layer shell is waterproof, windproof, breathable, and finished with an FC0 DWR treatment. Arc’teryx says the design was tested with mountain professionals and takes inspiration from rescue-team and PRO-series equipment. A helmet-compatible StormHood, harness-friendly hand pockets, a large chest pocket, pit zips, and a RECCO reflector keep the jacket firmly focused on alpine use.
What makes the Sperro SV different is how much attention has gone into extending its usable life. Arc’teryx designed every part of the jacket to be repairable through ReBIRD, including a newly replaceable zipper slider, while a laser-etched QR code acts as a digital product passport for materials, care, and repair information. The brand is also offering unlimited repairs for the first three years.
When the jacket finally reaches the end of its service life, its recoverable nylon components are intended to be recycled through Aquafil. At 502g, with a regular fit and a 78cm back length in size medium, the Sperro SV remains a fully capable shell for hiking, climbing, and ski touring rather than a sustainability experiment.
