Goruck Rucker 5.0
The Rucker is the pack that gave Goruck its identity. Not the GR1, which gets most of the attention, but the bag built specifically for the weighted walking workout the brand is named after. Ten years and four redesigns later, the Rucker 5.0 is the most significant update since lumbar padding arrived on the 3.0.
The two headline changes address the most common complaints. The interior Velcro pockets that collected grit, made noise, and fought back in cold weather are gone, replaced by recessed magnetic closures that stay shut under load, open one handed, and won't degrade over time. The lumbar pad has been completely rearchitected with a contoured, dual density foam design that follows the natural curve of the lower spine. The center is recessed to take pressure off bone, with foam concentrated along the lateral edges where the muscles actually need support. You might not notice it at mile one with 20 pounds. You will absolutely notice it at mile eight with 45.
The dual density shoulder straps have been redesigned for heavier loads, and the pack is stress tested at over 400 pounds at high stress points. Two elevated ruck plate pockets keep weight high and tight on your back, fitting standard plates from 10 to 45 pounds with a combined capacity of 75 pounds. The plate pocket also doubles as a laptop sleeve, which is why so many people end up using the Rucker as a daily carry bag despite its fitness focus.
Available in 20L and 25L, with 1000D Cordura construction, four padded grab handles for ruck PT exercises, three rows of external MOLLE, YKK zippers with 550 cord pulls, a hi visibility reflective stripe, hydration port, and drain grommets. Covered by Goruck's lifetime SCARS warranty.
