stuff we drool about

Short Bus Retro | By Winkelman Architecture

Over the years we have showcased many adventure vehicles, but nothing as special as this, an old-school bus converted into a camper. Restored to perfection by Winkleman Architecture for a client, the 1959 Chevrolet Viking short bus can safely carry 12 passengers, converting to guest quarters for two with two single beds, or joined in the center as a queen bed. The design aesthetic was inspired by the mid-century, and has a charming 60′s, hippy-chic feel, executed with an arts and crafts approach. The sixties vibe is complete with plumbing, power, and a funky interior including a beautiful pine floor, multi-colored beads, tassel lamps and Moroccan-style prints. The end result is a cozy cottage on wheels for unique family forays into the wilderness.
