Headspace Campers Land Rover Defender 110 Overlanding Rig

Headspace Campers turns the Land Rover Defender 110 into a genuine overlanding camper without replacing the vehicle’s familiar shape with a bulky rooftop box. The Australian-built conversion raises the roof by just 140mm when closed, then opens into a dedicated sleeping area while leaving the Defender’s cabin available for everyday driving and storage.

The Standard package includes a 1300mm x 1850mm mattress with a memory foam top layer, interior LED lighting, an overhead canvas organizer, USB charging ports, a tow-bar-mounted step, and a useful parcel shelf above the factory sun visors. A zip-on front awning extends shelter around the open sleeping area, while the entire conversion adds 95kg to the Defender 110.

The Premium setup pushes the conversion further with an 85mm mattress, timber or dark grey cabin lining, color-matched automotive paint, red and white lighting, dual ceiling fans, and additional side awnings. Two exterior 50-amp Anderson sockets provide connections for solar input or auxiliary power, making the setup better suited to extended trips away from established campsites.

One of the smartest aspects is how little permanent compromise the conversion demands. Apart from modifications to the headlining, Headspace says its Defender 110 roof system is fully reversible, and it remains compatible with aftermarket gutter-mounted roof racks. The Standard conversion is currently listed at $16,826, while the Premium package is $23,533 before engineering and installation costs.
