Urwahn Forest Weasel Gravel eBike
Most gravel bikes are variations on the same tube shapes and component choices. The Urwahn Forest Weasel is not. It is built around a 3D printed SOFTRIDE steel frame that suspends the rear wheel through controlled flex in the frame itself, no pivots, no linkages, no additional spring systems. The rear triangle absorbs road imperfections organically while the bottom bracket and head tube stay stiff through 3D printed reinforcement. Power goes forward. Vibration doesn't come back.
The drivetrain is where it gets interesting. A Gates Carbon Drive belt replaces the traditional chain, running silent and maintenance free. Shifting comes from a Pinion Smart.Shift 12 speed bottom bracket gearbox, which keeps all the moving parts protected and centralised rather than exposed to trail debris. Optionally, the whole platform electrifies with a Mahle X20 rear hub motor delivering 55 to 65 Nm of torque from a 236 Wh battery hidden in the downtube. Range hits up to 100 km with an optional extender available for longer days. An AI function in the motor continuously reads sensor data and adjusts support to the riding situation.
The integration runs deep. LED lighting sits inside the handlebar and seatpost. GPS tracking is built in with anti theft monitoring through the app. The iWoc One controller in the top tube handles motor levels and battery status, and an SP Connect mount turns your phone into a full dashboard with navigation, heart rate, elevation, and Strava sharing.
Continental Terra Trail 45mm tires handle mixed surfaces, TRP Hywire electronic brakes manage stopping, and an Ergon SFC3 saddle handles comfort. The frame comes in over 40 colour options and weighs between 11.5 and 15.5 kg depending on configuration. Built and manufactured regionally with a refurbishment and recycling service from Urwahn directly.
