Flyway Carbon Gravel Bike

The Salsa Flyway Carbon Gravel Bike marks the latest chapter in the brand’s long commitment to dirt road riding. Developed from more than a decade of gravel innovation that began with the original Warbird in 2012, the new Flyway platform blends comfort, stability, and speed into a versatile machine built for both racing and long distance exploration. It joins a growing category of modern cycling gear designed for riders who want performance and adventure in one package.

At the heart of the bike is a lightweight carbon frame available in two constructions. The premium Deluxe version reduces weight while maintaining stiffness and durability, while the Standard carbon layup balances performance and efficiency. Salsa’s Class 5 VRS system increases frame compliance by about twenty percent compared to the Warbird, helping absorb road vibration and deliver a smoother ride across rough terrain.

Designed for modern gravel riding, the Flyway fits tires up to 700c by 50 mm and is compatible with gravel suspension forks up to 40 mm. Frame and fork cargo mounts allow riders to carry gear for longer adventures while maintaining a clean and streamlined setup, making it a great companion for riders who enjoy exploring with the latest outdoor gear.

The flagship Flyway C DLX RED XPLR build pairs the frame with SRAM’s RED XPLR thirteen speed drivetrain, offering a wide gear range and precise electronic shifting. Whether pushing race pace or heading out for an all day ride on remote roads, the Flyway is built to handle the evolving demands of modern gravel cycling and fits perfectly within today’s expanding world of adventure bikes.
