APEX1 Bikepacking Tent

Every bikepacking tent claims to be packable. The Aper APEX1 was designed from the ground up around how gear is actually carried on a bike, not on your back, and that distinction changes everything about how the tent is built.

The key innovation is structural. The APEX1 uses your guy lined bike as part of the tent's support system, with a handlebar mount and brake lock keeping the bike upright and stable through the night. That integrated bike structure increases interior volume by 30% while using less fabric overall, reducing both weight and pack size simultaneously. It also keeps your bike secure and deters theft while you sleep. A single carbon main pole handles the rest of the structure, with an optional second carbon pole for conditions where you want to pitch without the bike.

The materials were chosen specifically for repeated compression. Double sided silicone coated nylon collapses efficiently into the smallest possible volume and withstands years of being stuffed into bags without degrading. The purpose built compression bags are designed to work with bikepacking bags rather than forcing a hiking tent shape into a frame bag. Poles store separately, and the modular system lets you take just the rain fly if you want to go lighter.

Despite the compact pack size, the interior is the most spacious single pole tent in its class. Full sit up height means you can change clothes, access gear, cook a meal, and wait out bad weather without crawling around on your elbows. The vestibule provides organised storage space for the next morning's departure. Setup takes six pegs.

The fly is 20D silnylon with 1500mm hydrostatic head. The floor steps up to 40D silnylon at 5000mm for serious ground water protection. Double wall construction throughout. Slanted sidewalls shed wind efficiently for stability in exposed terrain.

Three season, one person, CHF 560. Built in Switzerland for riders who measure every gram and every cubic centimetre on the bike.
