Renault R17 Electric Restomod

Renault has just revealed a stunning restomod of its iconic R17, blending the charm of 1970s design with modern electric power. The Renault R17 Electric Restomod, created in collaboration with French designer Ora Ito, reimagines the original Renault 17 hatchback with a sleek, futuristic twist. Featuring a lightweight carbon body, sharp proportions, and retro-inspired rectangular LED headlights, the R17 delivers a sporty and stylish take on the classic model.

The exterior design includes flared fenders, a full-width LED taillight, and subtle louvers, enhancing the car's modern look while nodding to its vintage roots. The attention to detail continues inside, where Ora Ito has combined 1970s fabrics with advanced tech, hiding four rectangular displays seamlessly into the cabin. The central display, positioned horizontally like a vintage radio, adds to the retro-modern fusion.

Under the hood, the Renault R17 Electric Restomod houses a 270-horsepower electric motor, offering a range of 249 miles on a single charge. Despite its cutting-edge technology, Renault has confirmed that this restomod will remain a concept, with no production plans. However, with its debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, it is sure to turn heads and fuel the hope that this electric dream might one day become reality.
