Porsche 911 Lammertink Monaco
The world of bespoke Porsche 911s is crowded with ambitious restorations, but the Lammertink Monaco stands apart through its extraordinary attention to detail. Created by Dutch Porsche specialist Edwin Lammertink, this one-of-one build transforms a classic air-cooled 911 into a deeply personalized sports car, combining over 400 horsepower with understated bodywork, exquisite materials, and carefully considered engineering. Its appeal isn't simply how much has changed, but how naturally those changes fit the original Porsche character.
Built by hand at Lammertink's workshop in Enter, the Netherlands, the Monaco features refined bodywork incorporating carbon fiber elements and a beautifully understated pearlescent finish. From a distance, the car appears almost black, but closer inspection reveals a deep green hue that changes with the light. The restrained exterior preserves the familiar proportions of an early 911, avoiding the exaggerated arches and aggressive aerodynamic additions that characterize many modern custom builds.
Behind the rear axle sits a naturally aspirated, air-cooled 4.2-liter flat-six producing over 400 horsepower. Individual throttle bodies sharpen engine response, while a five-speed manual gearbox keeps the driving experience firmly rooted in Porsche tradition. The combination offers considerably more performance than the original car without abandoning the mechanical involvement that makes classic 911s so desirable. Rather than chasing extreme power figures, Lammertink has focused on pairing modern engineering with the distinctive character of an air-cooled engine.
The interior is arguably the most impressive part of the transformation. Finished in premium Spinneybeck leather, the cabin features intricate woven upholstery, bespoke detailing, and a carefully coordinated material palette. Even the roll cage and front luggage compartment receive leather trim, demonstrating how far the builder has taken the customization process. The instruments draw inspiration from the earliest Porsche 901, combining traditional dial designs with a level of craftsmanship that makes the cockpit feel entirely individual.
The Monaco takes a more restrained approach than the Singer Porsche 911 DLS Turbo, whose motorsport-inspired bodywork and twin-turbocharged performance emphasize outright aggression. It has more in common with the Theon Design Porsche 911, where classic proportions and modern mechanical improvements are brought together through bespoke craftsmanship. What distinguishes Lammertink's creation is the deeply personal nature of the build, from its unusual paintwork to its intricately finished interior.
Each Lammertink Vintage receives a unique name and specification, with the complete commission process typically taking around three years. The Monaco is a finished example, offered with approximately 1,500 kilometers recorded and a price available upon request. For enthusiasts who appreciate the original 911's timeless design but want the performance and precision of modern engineering, this remarkable Dutch creation makes a compelling case for doing things differently.
