Porsche 911 Kaege Retro Coupe

The Porsche 911 Kaege Retro Coupe is one of those builds that gets the balance right. It respects history without pretending to live in it. Created as an interpretation of the classic F model and based on the air cooled 993, this car is not a replica. It is a carefully judged rework that keeps the spirit intact while delivering a far more usable driving experience.

Kaege Retro understood early on that copying the original shape was never the goal. The proportions of the 993 are fundamentally different, so instead they focused on capturing the visual rhythm and character that made the early 911 special. The result feels authentic without being nostalgic for the sake of it.

Under the skin sits a fully rebuilt air cooled flat six, enlarged to up to three point eight liters and tuned to produce around three hundred horsepower. It delivers the kind of mechanical response that modern cars simply cannot replicate. With a six speed manual transmission, rear wheel drive, and a lightweight body weighing just under twelve hundred kilos, performance feels immediate and engaging.

Inside, the cabin leans into seventies influence with modern execution. Recaro seats, bespoke upholstery, and a vintage style navigation system create an atmosphere that feels considered rather than themed. Every build is customized, from paint to suspension tuning, which reinforces the sense that this is a personal car, not a catalog product.

In our view, the Kaege Retro Coupe succeeds because it shows restraint. It enhances what matters, leaves the soul untouched, and delivers one of the most convincing modern takes on a classic 911 we have seen.
