Koenigsegg CCGT1 Hypercar

Koenigsegg is revisiting one of the most fascinating unfinished chapters in its history with the CCGT1. Based on the CC850, the new road-legal hypercar pays tribute to the original CCGT GT1 race project, which was developed for competition but never raced after regulation changes ended the programme before it could reach the grid.

Nearly every body panel has been redesigned for the CCGT1, with a large front splitter, sculpted underfloor, NACA cooling ducts, and an active rear wing that switches between low-drag, air-brake, and high-downforce modes. At 250 km/h, the car can generate up to 800kg of downforce. Koenigsegg has also revived its white composite concept as Ghost Fibre, a newly developed material combining a crystal-white appearance with reduced weight, added strength, and improved sound absorption.

Power comes from Koenigsegg’s twin-turbo V8, producing 1,280 hp on pump fuel and 1,600 hp on E85. Drive goes to the rear wheels through the Light Speed Transmission, paired as standard with a new sequential shifter positioned close to the steering wheel. Buyers can instead specify the Engage Shift System, adding a gated six-speed manual, clutch pedal, paddle shifting, and automatic operation.

The CCGT1 is fully road legal in standard form, but Koenigsegg is also offering its first factory-developed track package. It adds a carbon roll cage, racing seats, fire suppression, air jacks, track-focused suspension and brakes, revised aero, and dedicated wheels and tyres. Just 70 CCGT1s will be built, and all have already been allocated.
