Icon Electric 1949 Mercury Coupe

Jonathan Ward´s company, Icon, has been bringing a fresh perspective to custom vehicle design, with amazing custom rebuilds of classic vehicles of the past. The latest gem to roll out of their workshop is this spectacular 1949 Mercury Coupe, a car that looks old on the outside, but is new on the inside. Part of the Derelict series, the unique car has an untouched-looking exterior, with an overdone patina that looks cool over the greyish green paint. Underneath tough, is where the work has been done, it is now powered by a transmission-less dual electric motor that produces 470 lb-ft of torque and 400-hp. And thanks to a Tesla Performance 85kWh battery, it is capable of 150 to 200 miles of range and a 90 minute full recharge capability. Inside, there are lovely period-appropriate fabrics and leather details, electric windows, digital gauges with a vintage design, new switches, bezels and so forth, which operate modern components.
