GoKartGod Nighthawk Titan Claims 90 MPH on Electric Power
The Nighthawk Titan sits at the top of GoKartGod's three-kart range, above the 33.5 hp Surge and the 19.6 hp Pulse, and it is the one built to a number rather than a budget. The figure is 90 mph, produced by an electric drivetrain rated at 49.2 horsepower and up to 36.7 kW peak, wrapped in a hand-fabricated chassis that GoKartGod designs and builds in the USA.
Power comes from a 72V 60Ah lithium-ion pack with integrated BMS protection, good for 60 to 90 minutes of hard riding or a claimed three hours at cruising speeds, and 15 to 20 miles of range per charge. A full recharge takes about four hours on the 15-amp charger, and a spare battery can be specified at order. Two power modes are set during the build, which is how a kart capable of 90 mph can also be handed to a teenager, and gearing can be changed later to trade top speed for torque.
The hardware list reads more like a track car than a backyard toy. Hydraulic disc brakes work front and rear through braided stainless lines, with vented steel rotors and a proportioning valve for front-to-rear bias adjustment. There is an integrated LED brake light and a high-speed parental lockout key. The kart measures 72 inches long and 50 inches wide, weighs 260 lbs, takes seats from S to XXL, and handles drivers up to 250 lbs and roughly 6'4".
