Hoodworks is a new Oregon-based company that is trying to make the much-celebrated truck tailgate a little better. GearGate is like the end result if Victorinox or Leatherman built tailgates, it is aimed at active truck owners, a functionally and visually distinctive system that makes life easier for outdoor enthusiasts. The replacement tailgate for pickup trucks can pack several functions into a space that is normally under-utilized, and has seen relatively few changes over the years. Their first GearGate is the Cycling Comp, aimed to make life easier for recreational and competitive cyclists, it includes a mounting system for three bicycles, a hefty locking chain, rear and front facing LED lighting, a tough Nanuk 910 toolbox, a secure storage compartment for small valuables, and the obligatory bottle opener. The GearGate product range will be expanding to include other outdoor activities such as hunting, snow sports, fishing, camping, off-roading, tailgating, and water sports. watch it in action in the video below
