Dune Buggy Electric

The iconic Dune Buggy is back in electric form! Meyers Manx has unveiled an electric version of its famous dune buggy, with a range of up to 300 miles. The Meyers Manx 2.0 Electric was designed by legendary car designer Freeman Thomas, who penned the new Volkswagen Beetle among other notable projects. The all-terrain vehicle will be availble with two battery options: a 20kWh option with 150 miles of range and a 40kWh model with 202 hp, 240 lb-ft of torque and 300 miles of range. Meyers expects the car to be able to hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. There is also a DC fast charging system for charging at up to 60kW, an RFID wristband to start the vehicle, independent rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes with regenerative rear brakes, electric assist steering, knobby off-road tires, and an electric e-brake. Inside, the seats are wrapped in a vintage tweed pattern and the minimalist dashboard features a single retro-modern round gauge. Pre-orders will be available on August 19th, with the company aiming to start building the Manx 2.0 Electric next year, delivering the first 50 in 2023.
