Cinch Outdoors Wingman X Truck Tent
The Wingman X turns a pickup bed into a two-storey campsite without sacrificing the truck’s cargo space. Developed by Cinch Outdoors and Wild Land, the powered system mounts to the bed rails and collapses into a box measuring just 25 inches tall for travel. At camp, a dual-layer lifting mechanism raises it into a lower utility area with an elevated sleeping compartment above.
The truck bed becomes the ground floor, surrounded by weather-resistant walls and fitted with MOLLE panels, detachable magnetic lights, and a folding bamboo table. Because the structure sits above the cargo floor, tools and outdoor equipment can remain underneath while the Wingman X is closed. Deployment, lighting, and the integrated Bluetooth audio system can be controlled using the remote or companion app.
Upstairs, a high-density foam mattress accommodates two to three people. Panoramic mesh panels, thermal flooring, ambient lighting, and a transparent skylight make the sleeping area feel considerably more open than a conventional rooftop tent. The reinforced skylight also functions as a hatch for photography, wildlife watching, or taking in the view.
The Wingman X uses an all-metal structure and water-resistant polycotton fabric, weighs 551 pounds, and is compatible with more than 80 percent of pickup trucks. It is currently priced at $7,999, with the next production batch open for reservations.
