1992 Porsche 911 Patagonia 4x4
The 1992 Porsche 911 Patagonia 4x4 takes the Carrera 4 in an unusually adventurous direction. Rebuilt in Germany, this 964 combines a custom portal axle system with metal widebody panels and a thoroughly retrimmed cabin. It serves as the prototype for a proposed run of ten cars.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six, driving all four wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine and transmission have been overhauled, while the chassis combines 964 Turbo suspension components with Bilstein dampers. Fuchs-style 17-inch beadlock wheels wear BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A tires.
The satin gold and NATO olive finish is a vinyl wrap, applied after the body was repainted in its original factory color. Red pinstriping, LED lighting, an aluminum roof rack, and a large Turbo-style rear wing complete the exterior. Inside, green and brown leather meets houndstooth inserts, Recaro seats, a wooden gear knob, and a steering wheel from the newer 992 generation.
Listed through Collecting Cars in Berlin, the Patagonia comes with documentation covering the rebuild. Its indicated one kilometer reflects an odometer reset during that work, rather than lifetime mileage. The result is a distinctly individual 911, combining familiar air-cooled hardware with an ambitious off-road conversion.
