1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62

The 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 has always been a legend, but this fully refurbished example takes the formula to another level. Reworked by BaderInk in Calabasas, California, this classic SUV blends old school durability with modern V8 performance in a way that feels both purposeful and restrained.

At the heart of the build is a crate 6.2 liter Gen V LT1 V8 paired with a 6L80E six speed automatic transmission. The result is effortless power and smooth highway manners without losing the Land Cruiser’s go anywhere character. Supporting upgrades include an aluminum radiator, refreshed drivetrain components, and a MagnaFlow exhaust that adds a subtle growl without overdoing it.

The stance is spot on thanks to an Old Man Emu lift, 17 inch U.S. wheels, and 33 inch Rolling Big Power tires. Finished in Chalk over black trim, the exterior feels modern while staying true to the FJ62’s iconic shape. Details like locking front hubs, a receiver hitch, and a rearview camera make it as practical as it is good looking.

Inside, the cabin has been completely refreshed with black upholstery featuring patterned s, new carpeting, and a suede headliner. Air conditioning and a Kenwood head unit with Apple CarPlay bring everyday comfort to the classic interior.

With just 49 miles since completion, this LT1 powered Land Cruiser FJ62 is a rare blend of vintage style and modern capability, ready for both adventure and daily use.
